Milos Veljkovic kicked off his World Cup yesterday evening. During the 2-0 defeat for Serbia at the hands of Brazil, the centre-back started and played the entire match for his nation.

After the brief appearance of Niclas Füllkrug during Germany’s clash with Japan on Wednesday, the second Green-White got his tournament up and running. As Lücke’s start also ended in defeated, both of Werder’s World Cup participants are under pressure heading in the second round of group stage games.

Füllkrug will be hoping for more minutes on Sunday (27.11.22) against Spain. Serbia will be chasing some crucial points in order to advance to the Round of 16 against Cameroon on Monday (28.11.22). Judging from his performance against Brazil, Milos Veljkovic should get minutes in Serbia’s second game.
