Jiri Pavlenka and Jean-Manuel Mbom will be the only Werder Bremen players permitted to join up with their national teams during the upcoming international break. Pavlenka and the Czech Republic will take on Germany in Leipzig while Mbom has been called up for Germany U21s for their games against Slovenia and Wales that take place in Braunschweig. No other players will feature for their countries. The decision has been made due to a regulation from the Bremen health authority, which states that players who are returning from international risk areas must quarantine for five days. Currently, Pavlenka and Mbom will not have to quarantine after returning from international duty as they are not leaving Germany.

"We spoke with our players and with the various associations. FIFA are releasing clubs from their obligation to make players available for international duty if they have to quarantine upon their return. We know that the players would like to join up with their teams, but we cannot take that risk this time, given the overall situation," said SVW sporting director Frank Baumann.
