Niclas Füllkrug returned to fitness to take part in the final training before the classic showdown with Bayern Munich on Saturday 29 September 2012 at 3:30 pm. The striker had to miss the game in Freiburg after injuring himself in a challenge in training. Head coach Thomas Schaaf praised the record champions' quality ahead of the North-South derby. "They have a very good mix. Felix Kroos meanwhile will once again have a chance to prove himself with the professionals as he replaced the suspended Assani Lukimya in the game roster.

Kroos, who made the roster for the games against Freiburg and Hannover, was joined in the 18-man roster by: Mielitz, Wolf - Fritz, Gebre Selassie, Sokratis, Prödl, Kroos, Schmitz, Ignjovski, Bargfrede, Junuzovic, Hunt, De Bruyne, Elia, Arnautovic, Petersen, Akpala, Füllkrug.
