Played “naïve and dumb”

Hanging heads for Werder players as the disappointment after the defeat is huge.
Matthew Taylor's three goals helped Preußen Münster bounce Werder Bremen from the German DFB Cup with a 4-2 loss in the first round of the competition. WERDER.DE collected reaction after the match.

Celmens Fritz: "You know how things go. You know exactly that you led twice, twice had it in your own hands. That goes through your head while the opponents are pushed forward by the crowd. Once again we didn't come back well after our attacks. We could not show our quality on the pitch."

Aaron Hunt: "We were just too dumb. We score the 1-0 at the perfect time. We answer their equaliser well and lead 2-1 but just could not bring the game home. We were only missing eight minutes."

Klaus Allofs: "This is a huge disappointment. I went crazy personally. We knew that it would be a difficult match and we did well for a while. When you lead twice, then you shouldn't give it up. Then I am a professional and absolutely want to reach the next round and I will fight all I can so that we advance. Forget the good preparations, today was about staying in the cup or not. But not everyone has taken on this mentality. I guess some still have a ways to go. At least we didn't show that in the challenges. What we played was not cup worthy but just naïve."
