In addition to Werder's number 16, 10 other internationals returned to the Weser on Thursday. "Nobody was hurt," said a happy head coach Thomas Schaaf about his healthy returnees. Before the beginning of the session, the 51-year-old coach gave a long talk to his Green-Whites. "A lot of players were gone recently. I told them that everyone needs to really concentrate on what's going on here," said Schaaf afterwards. The focus is entirely on the German DFB Cup match on Sunday at Preußen Münster. "Of course we want to advance a round further. But it will not be easy, we are aware of that. But we still have room to improve - myself included. I have to be more present and more dangerous in front of the goal, just do my best in every game," said Junuzovic.
Werder still have two training sessions for the final fine-tuning. On Friday, Werder's international players will return in full to training, but not at 3:30 p.m. as usual but an hour earlier.
