Stevanovic was then brought to Bremen hospital Klinikum Mitte where he was intensively examined and diagnosed with a fracture of his left shoulder. Team doctor Dr. Götz Dimanski will now discuss with him the next steps.
Head coach Thomas Schaaf spoke about the training accident after the session. "We wish Aleks all the best and hope that he can get back onto the pitch soon. These kinds of things happen in football. It was a normal challenge, neither wanted to give way and went passionately after the ball and it's supposed to be that way. I expect that from our other players. Normally it doesn't end up that painful," said Schaaf. Elia hopes his teammate Stevanovic can get well soon. "I am really very sorry for him. It was an unlucky occurrence. We both wanted to get the ball and he fell unluckily on his shoulder. I hope that he gets back soon," said Elia.
Goalkeeper Raphael Wolf was not able to participate in team training at all on Wednesday as the keeper is suffering from a shoulder injury. "He had problems already back in Zillertal with the bursa in the joint. That has acted up again. We hope that it settles down in the coming days," said Schaaf.
