Switzerland’s Olympic team lost their second group match 2-1 against South Korea.

Sunday was a day to forget for Francois Affolter and the Swiss Olympic team, which lost 2-1 against South Korea, leaving them only a very slim hope of advancing from the group stage. Once again, Werder's defender Affolter did not play in the match as Fabian Schär played instead in the Swiss defence and did not look good on either of South Korea's goals.

After a first half without many highlights, Chu Young Park from Arsenal gave South Korea the lead in the 57th minute. The Swiss equalised three minutes later through Innocent Emeghara. But South Korea regained the lead just four minutes after that with Bo Kyung Kim hitting the game-winner to make it 2-1.

Switzerland must now beat Mexico in their final group match in order to still qualify for the quarter-finals. Swiss head coach Pierluigi Tami still believes his team will advance. "We gave our all but have to accept the defeat. But a victory over Mexico is possible," said Tami. The third Group B match for Switzerland takes place on Wednesday 1 August 2012 at 6 p.m.
